Abdul-Hayi Moomen is an accomplished journalist, celebrated author, and a prominent voice in human rights advocacy. A multiple-time winner of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Best Human Rights Journalist award, he has solidified his reputation as a leading figure in Ghana’s media landscape. His literary contributions include the thought-provoking Thoughts of a Professional Gossip and the incisive political analysis, Judgement Day – The Story of Ghana’s 2020 Election Petition.

In 2019, his impact through journalism and writing earned him recognition as one of the 100 most influential people from Northern Ghana. A prolific writer, Moomen’s insightful works have been featured in Ghana’s leading newspapers and online platforms, resonating with readers across the nation.

He has held various key roles at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, including News Editor, Head of Current Affairs, news anchor, and TV host, contributing significantly to the quality and reach of public broadcasting in Ghana.

Currently serving as the Director of Public Affairs at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Moomen has revolutionized the university’s online presence, transforming its website into a highly engaging and reader-friendly platform. In addition to his administrative role, he imparts his expertise in communication as a part-time postgraduate lecturer at UDS and has previously taught broadcasting and writing courses at the Islamic University College and the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
